There’s simply a lot to do in the Bahamas. Consisting of about 700 islands over 100,000 square miles of the Atlantic Ocean and being 50 miles off the coast of Florida it is one of the finest Caribbean tropical islands. It’s not just limited to having beautiful beaches but Cable Beach Island has a multitude of casinos, Atlantis has sunning terraces and water parks, and New Providence is full of life. Nassau Island along with Lucayan National Park and Eleuthera also has areas full of colonial history and rum houses.

For an authentic Caribbean experience Pink Sands Beach is the place to go. It is present on the east coast of Harbour Island. On the beach you’ll find sun beds and umbrellas so you can enjoy the view and sun. Its most special feature is that it the beach actually has pink sand making it special from beaches elsewhere. A top family experience in the Bahamas is Blue Lagoon Island with its Dolphin Encounters program where you can literally swim with dolphins. The island also has McCutcheon’s Tower which has a lovely view of the Caribbean Sea from the top.

In Nassau there’s one of the Bahamas main attractions in the Paradise Island Water Park. With tons of varying water slides and pools this is an incredible park to take the kids. There’s also the exciting Leap of Faith which takes passengers down the terraces of an artificial Aztec Temple including “the fear inducing abyss” by shooting passengers 15 meters into a dark hole before they finally hit the pool. This is only for the brave. There are also areas for adults in the park with bars and relaxation spots away from all the noise.

Lucayan National Park also on Nassau Island consists of 40 acres of beaches, pine forests, swamps, and boardwalks for those who love nature and bird watching. One if its characteristic features are the underwater cave systems which are some of the largest on Earth.

The Bahamas are an exciting trip for the entire family. Whether it’s a honeymoon where you can enjoy relaxing on the beach with your significant other and doing fun activities together or a family trip where the kids can have fun on the beach enjoying the multiple activities and hitting the Paradise Island Water Park, the Bahamas certainly provide the complete experience. Can you really say you’ve been to the Caribbean if you haven’t been to the Bahamas?
